إجابة مختصرة: Choose a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) whose rated short-circuit breaking capacity is at least the prospective short-circuit current at its installation point, at the applicable voltage and under the relevant product standard. A 10 kA marking is not automatically required in every installation, and a 6 kA marking is not automatically adequate for every home.

These figures describe short-circuit interruption capability under defined test conditions. They are different from the breaker’s current rating, such as 16 A or 32 A, and from its B, C or D tripping characteristic. A 16 A, 10 kA breaker still has a 16 A rated current; the 10 kA figure addresses a short-circuit fault.
Read the marking and datasheet carefully. For devices covered by IEC 60898-1, the relevant rated short-circuit capacity is generally expressed as قدرة القطع المقدرة (Icn). Industrial circuit breakers covered by IEC 60947-2 use Icu (ultimate) and Ics (service) ratings. Values from different standards or rated operating voltages should not be treated as interchangeable. See Schneider Electric’s explanation of circuit-breaker characteristics.
إن Schneider Electric Electrical Installation Guide sets out the fault-current and coordinated-protection selection principles.
| Prospective fault current at MCB | 6 kA option | 10 kA option |
|---|---|---|
| 4.2 kA | May be suitable if its rated capacity is 6 kA at the actual voltage and all other requirements are met. | May also be suitable; check cost and full specification. |
| 7.5 kA | Insufficient as an independently rated 6 kA device. | May be suitable if its rated capacity is 10 kA at the actual voltage and all other requirements are met. |
These numbers are illustrative inputs, not measurements or recommendations for a particular building. Fault current can differ between a main distribution board and a remote downstream board because circuit impedance changes. A simple rule based only on “residential” or “industrial” misses this.
كوانجيا MCB range lists 6 kA and 10 kA options by model. Confirm the exact part number and current datasheet before purchase. For a model-specific selection or quotation, contact the Kuangya team with your system voltage, calculated fault current and required configuration.
It provides a higher stated interruption rating only when the ratings are compared under the same relevant standard and voltage. The choice still depends on the actual fault level and the other device specifications.
Not on the breaking-capacity number alone. Verify the new device’s voltage, rated current, curve, poles, terminal compatibility, enclosure fit and manufacturer instructions. A qualified designer or installer should confirm the replacement for the circuit.
Only if an applicable, manufacturer-validated backup-protection combination covers the exact devices and conditions. Without that evidence, select a downstream breaker with adequate independent breaking capacity.
